Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Purbrook Infant School
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you so much for showing an interest in, and requesting information about Purbrook Infant School. Our school has a reputation for having a calm, welcoming and nurturing environment in which children develop positive attitudes to learning, delight in the excitement of learning new skills and learn to work positively with and alongside others. We take pride in their achievements and work hard to help all our children achieve high standards. We are very proud of our school and all who belong to the school community and look forward to sharing all that makes Purbrook Infant School a special place.
Starting school is probably one of the biggest steps that you are your child will ever take. At our school, children come first and are at the centre of everything we do. We appreciate that each child is special and unique and that everyone has a talent or skill that needs to be nurtured and developed. We strive to provide opportunities for every child to experience success and believe fostering a 'whole child' curriculum.
These qualities and strengths of the school were identified in our most recent Ofsted Inspection Report (January 2025) www.ofsted.gov.uk
At Purbrook Infant School we expect high standards of behaviour and good manners. The development of core values, alongside sound basic skills of learning, on which to build future academic progress are key factors in our ethos. We pride ourselves on an innovative and creative curriculum and a busy selection of after school clubs and on site wrap around care, providing safe and exciting extended learning for all our pupils.
We trust this prospectus will give you a clear picture of our school and the things you and your child can expect on becoming part of the Purbrook Infant School community.
We are committed to fostering the valued partnership between home and school and to developing links with the local community.
From all the staff and myself, we wish you and your child a happy successfully time at Purbrook Infant School.
